Dustin Linville named 2011 STARS MDRL Champion

Dustin Linville and JP Motorsports has been named the 2011 STARS MDRL series Champions. We would like to thank everyone who made this possible from the fans for there continued support and our sponsors.

Winning the championship has earned the team a guarenteed starting spot in the Lucas Oil sanctioned $50,000 to win Dirt Track World Championship at KC Raceway in Chillicothe, Oh on October 13-15.

JP Motorsports would head to Mountain Motor Speedway in Isom, Ky Saturday night where he would take the lead on lap 23 of the 40 lap Roger Breeding Memorial. Linville would lead the remaining laps and take the checkered flag in his first S.T.A.R.S. MDRL victory. Linville would also win his heat race earlier in the night and extend his points lead.

 

Sunday Night JP Motorsports would attend 191 Speedway in Campton, Ky. Linville would start in the 8th position in the feature and work his way forward in the 40 lap C&C Liquor 40. With a caution at lap 38 Linville would see his opportunity at victory, Linville would be able to snatch the lead exiting turn 4 to the checkered flag in the USDCS sanctioned event.

JP Motorsports would venture to Wartburg Speedway Friday night to attend the Triple Threat Showdown as they ran for points in the STARS MDRL series. Linville would finish 2nd in his heat earning him an 11th place start on the feature. From there he would work his way through traffic and caution periods to land a 4th place finish.

Dustin and the JP Motorsports crew visited 191 Speedway in Campton, KY on Saturday Night and Linville brought home another top five finish for the Jesse Puckett owned JP Motorsports team.

After qualifying fourth and finish third in his heat race, Dustin started sixth on the field. Several caution periods sloowed the a-main event before the final laps when a three way battle for the second position began between Linville, Daniel Shelton, and Derek Fisher. With all three door-to-door, bumper-to-bumper, it would be Linville at the line bringing home a respectable second place finish. Full results can be found at www.191speedway.com

Linville finds his way to victory lane at Ponderosa Speedway

Ponderosa Speedway would return to action on Friday evening after a five-week layoff and Dustin Linville of Lancaster, KY would grab the win in the 12th Annual Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial for the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model division.

Justin Rattliff would take the lead at the start of the 40 lap, $2,500 to win 12th Annual Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial event for the Full Size Image Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, with Greg Johnson giving chase closely for the first 15 laps that would be filled with a total of five caution periods. A restart on lap 16 would see Dustin Linville slidejob Johnson for the second spot, with another caution as the field started lap 17. Rattliff’s mount would suffer mechanical issues on the restart and he would pull pitside for the remainder of the event. This turn of events would put Linville on the point and the eighth place starting, second-generation racer would not be headed after the final of nine cautions waved on lap 27 and would drive to the victory in the seat of the Jesse Puckett owned Puckett Automotive sponsored #88 C.J. Rayburn Race Car powered by a Roush-Yates Race Engine. Johnson would take runner-up honors, while 10th starting Johnny Wheeler would finish third. Victor Lee would rally for a fourth place finish after pitting with a flat tire on one of the three cautions on lap 15, while 19th starting David Webb would run as high as third before settling for fifth. The remainder of the top ten would be Brandon Hardgrove, Stephen Breeding, Jarrod Breeding, Todd Coffman, and Chase McWhorter. In preliminary action, Webb would be the top qualifier among 19 entries at 13.534 seconds, while heat race victories fell to Johnson, Rattliff, and Joey Daniel.

 

Linville roars to 2nd at Brushcreek Motorsports Park

Dustin and the #d88 JP Motorsports team ventured to Southern Ohio for a weekly racing event at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex in Peebles, Ohio. After Mother Nature had won virtually every event in Central Kentucky, Linville and team owner Jesse Puckett saw this as an opportunity for seat time before the Hidden Gem 50 at Brushcreek on July 6, a $10,000 to win event.

Dustin railed his way to a second place finish after a pass on local Josh Tidwell with just four laps to go. Mike Myers scored his first win of 2011, following across the finish line were Linville, Josh Tidwell, Jeff Alsip, and Brian Gray rounded out the top five. Dustin Linville pilots JP Motorsports 88 at Richmond Raceway

    Dustin jumped aboard the #88 JP Motorsports team Saturday Night as they visited Full Size ImageRichmond Raceway for the Rain Dodger 40, the inagural event for the newly formed United Super DirtCar Series.

    Mike Jewell grabbed the lead on the initial green flag and hustled out to a five car length lead over the field. However, Jewell was quickly joined in a battle for the lead that included Dustin Linville, Aaron Hatton, Ray Cook, and Victor Lee. By lap 10 the top five could be covered with a blanket as they all battled for position with Linville taking the top spot from Jewell exiting turn two.

    After a caution the action began to heat up as Linville, Cook, and Lee all battled for the top spot at times three-wide for the lead. Linville continued to lead before the turning point of the race came on lap 32 when Cook and Linville exited turn two side-by-side racing hard for the lead. The pair made contact sending Linville into the outside wall and spinning down the back stretch, ending his night with rear suspension damage. For full results visit www.richmond-raceway.net

 

JP Motorsports starts season with a fast qualifing lap!

   JP Motorsports attended their first race of the season at Lake Cumberland Speedway Sat night April 23rd where on the first qualifing lap Victor Lee was able to set the fast time for the night at 12.757. In the heats an invert would send Victor to 3rd place start and which was also where he finished. In the feature Victor would start from the 7th position quickly moving into 6th. After a 18 lap battle with Zack Dohm Victor would finally make his move to the inside taking the 5th position. Victor would make it as high as 4th in the night but settled for a 5th place finish.
